On this episode of Media Rebel Unplugged, was gonna stop. I was gonna give this up. Season four was gonna be our last season. I discovered that we are in the top 10 % worldwide. And that's crazy because if you have ever felt beaten down or beaten up, I've literally been that person and I'm standing here today to show all of you that you can do it. You might feel beaten down right now, but I want you to know you're not. Welcome to season four of Media Rebel Unplugged. I'm your host Janice. Today we're talking about Rebel Rising. What I'm building right now, why I build it and who it's for. Because it's all connected. I want to share with you guys some really shocking news for me. Going through my difficult seasons and I'm still going through it. I think that's just life, right? We all have shit in our lives that just doesn't go away or just piles of it. I honestly didn't know if this podcast was reaching anybody. I didn't know if anybody was listening, watching whatever it is that you choose to do. And I was going to stop. I was going to give this up. Season four was going to be our last season. It's really hard being indie podcast. You're not sponsored by some big conglomerate that is spending lots of money behind you to promote you. And they don't think a lot of like people know that unless you're actually in a world of podcasting. In my midst of working on a podcast, I discovered that we are in the top 10 % worldwide. And that's crazy because we're not like number 10 or 20 or 40 or a hundred even, or even in the top hundreds. But there's four and a half million podcasts. Uh, and we're like 437,000 on the list. And while that might sound like crazy that we're 437,000, and that's not like a big deal to some people at a four and a half million, we're in the top half million. I'll take it. So I'm here. We're going to keep working on this and we're going to see what unfolds. I want to thank you because of you were here. But I need you to help us share this out because if you're not sharing it, people aren't going to hear about it. And that's a, that's the large truth for an indie podcast like ours and mine. So if you could please share this with somebody, if you feel moved by anything you're about to hear in this episode today, I'm in a season of building something deeply personal and very intentional. And I wanted you to hear it all directly from me first. If you've ever had a season where everything looks fine on the outside, but internally you feel like your world is imploding and you're rebuilding, then this episode is for you. At this current stage of life for me, I wear a lot of titles. I'm a CEO. I'm a speaker. am now an author, but more than anything, I'm a woman who has lived through many difficult seasons and I've chosen to rise from them. every time with clarity and conviction. And I'm not interested in reinventing myself. So the season isn't about proving anything. It's about alignment. It's about building things that truly matter and not just to me, but to the women who see themselves in this work. I want you to know that everything created and talked about here is from my truly lived experience. And that is how Rebel Rising began. Let's start with my book, Rebel Rising Within. It's coming out March 2026 and it's written to awaken the rebel within you, within every woman. I didn't want to write a book that was just about my story, even though my story is quite a lot. I became a mother as a teenager. I've been divorced twice. I am a sexual assault. and domestic violence survivor. I have lived through seasons that reshape a person and have reshaped me every step. And I know that when you're in those seasons of difficulty, you feel completely alone. It's hard to see what could be on the other side of that difficult time. I wanted to write this so that everyone who reads it can see that it's possible to... see the outcome and lead with purpose and not just centered around the pain. The heart of my book is about the reader. I designed every chapter to help women identify the rebel within themselves. The part of them that adapted, the part of them that endured and kept moving forward even when they didn't feel strong. So throughout the book, you'll find reflections in every chapter and those chapters aren't about focusing on the past. It's not shaped for you to relive the past. but the recognition of seeing the patterns laid out very clearly so that you can reconnect with your voice. It's about naming your strength and beginning to trust it again. The book is for women who know there is more in them, more than the hard season. So you can recognize the moments where you were stronger than you even realized, or maybe even now, more than you realize even now. So the book is healing. And that that healing leads somewhere that it awakens something. It launches something in every woman who goes through the chapter of their lives, looking at that intention and self-trust for the past five years. I have been rebuilding my life after an event that nearly took it. have stayed quiet in some ways. I think at times I would drop 10 bits of what I've gone through, but I hadn't really dived into I survived. So the book isn't just about what I survived, um, five years ago, but it is a big catalyst for it. And I start the book off talking about the one night there was one night that I recognize now changed my entire life in the trajectory of it. I was a teenage girl, a freshman in high school. And that night is what led to my assault. 20 years later, I had a live in boyfriend who nearly took my life. He strangled me and he beat me so bad that he broke half of my face, dislocating my jaw. The fact that I am sitting here today is nothing short of a miracle. I never thought I would be on this podcast. In fact, I ran from it. Um, so I want to thank every one of you for listening. While I was assaulted, my children were asleep and in the house. Thankfully they weren't awoken by it. I spent 25 minutes waiting for the police to arrive, waited another hour for EMTs to arrive. And then my journey after that wasn't easy because of what happened with having to go to court and testify and everything that I just endured after that. At that point, I had already gone through two divorces. So I've definitely lived in seasons where if you have ever felt beaten down. or beaten up. I've literally been that person and I'm standing here today to show all of you that you can do it. Whatever you dream is possible. You are not limited because of a difficult time. A difficult season doesn't limit you. It builds you. So you might feel beaten down right now, but I want you to know you're not. You're being built into something so much more. You just can't see it right now because you're in so much pain. You're going to get out of it and you're going to come out so much better, so much stronger, so much wiser. And that's what I'm here for. That's what my book's for. It's for you. It's for you. Because otherwise everything that I went through would have been for nothing. I've also decided that I will start taking keynote speaking engagements aligned so perfectly with my book. It's very intentional on what type of speaking engagements I do, which is primarily to women. Women's conferences, leadership events, corporate women's groups, colleges, community organizations, and nonprofits that are serving women. The themes that I speak on are consistent. It's about reclaiming your voice, rebuilding after difficult seasons, and learning to trust yourself again. Choosing what's next with clarity instead of fear, understanding that fear often limits us. My speaking isn't just motivational. It's also grounded. It's real. It's practical. It's about my life experience. I do these speaking engagements to give women language and tools that they can actually use when they leave the room. So if you're hosting an event and you're looking for a woman that could speak with honesty and direction and hold space with authenticity, then that's exactly where I fit in. Another piece of Rebel Rising is the Rebel Rising retreat. I am creating this retreat because healing and growth don't happen in isolation. Women, tend to carry a lot and we often do that quietly. We rarely give ourselves permission to pause. And I think it's important that we have a designated community. So I am building this as a community of women to come together at this retreat in order to work on. Everything from our movement, our brain, our hearts, our nutrition, our body. The retreat exists to give you space to exhale and reflect, reconnecting with yourselves in a grounded and intentional environment for women that are strong, the tired, women who are rebuilding, women who are craving clarity, rest, and direction. It's not going to be over-packed with, you know, designated times for you. I want you to have some free time in this so it will be calm but it will also be intentional. I have some amazing facilitators that will be coming along to this retreat that are trauma informed and aligned with my mission. So you'll have mental health professionals, nervous system, somatic practitioners, breath work, gentle movements and I'm still laying out exactly everything that we're going to be doing but One of the things that I'm really looking forward to is celebrating my birthday. So every year my birthday just doesn't feel like a true celebration. And for me to turn my pain into purpose, this was one of those moments to take something that's normally not so wonderful for me as a, as a single mom, know, single moms don't normally get a whole lot of treatment for the birthday. So I want us to go at the end of the retreat and have a dance party. to celebrate not just my birthday, but ourselves and the work that we're gonna be doing there. And I would love to have you a part of that. As I mentioned, a huge piece of this is the Rebel Rising community. We don't just need a book or a retreat, we need connection. We need ongoing support, a place where we can be honest about where we are, still respected while we're figuring out what's next. Soon I'll be launching the Rebel Rising Community on school, is SKOOL. I'll be sharing details soon on how women can join. The community is going to be focused on having a space for conversation, reflection, encouragement, growth. I will have some of my podcast guests on there that specialize in exactly what this is aligned with. It will be a place where we can continue. the work that we're starting through my book with the podcast, the retreat without any pressure because I feel the world does enough of that on its own. So if you've been craving a community of women who are focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, supportive, going through the difficult seasons while still rebuilding and leading, then this is being built specifically for you. All this being said, the book, the speaking, the retreat, the community, they aren't just separate things. The book gives language to what we're, what we're going through. The speaking creates awareness and permission. The retreat gives space for integration and the community provides ongoing support. This isn't just a brand extension. This is a continuum. This is what I am building and I invite you to be a part of it. You can learn more in the description or if you'd like, can go to my website, jannisbeckerofficial.com.
